The MX Master 4 refines Logitech’s flagship productivity mouse with improved materials, haptic feedback, and smoother controls, but also a few questionable decisions. David digs into the build quality, software, and usability to see if it’s really worth the $120 asking price or if newer competitors like Keychron have already overtaken it.

  1. Note: @5:03 David oversimplifies a bit when he calls the Bolt Receiver a “Bluetooth Receiver”. Though the Bolt does use the Bluetooth Protocol, it is a more direct connection that helps keep your mouse connected in congested areas. LABS has retested the MX Master 4’s latency while using the Bolt and it tested ~1ms higher latency than a bluetooth connection straight to the PC (12.3ms vs 11.7ms). It also seems like the mouse does still have 2.4ghz hardware for connecting to previous Bolt Receivers, but we can’t confirm that at this time.

  2. ugh, the only reason I might consider buying this crap is cause the mx 3 is disgusting at this point. But the 3 was the perfect mouse for me. I bet this will be hell to use in linux

  3. The heck with you, you entitled whiner. So it doesn’t come with a USB cable, so what? Are you going to tell me you don’t have a collection of performance cables?

  4. 8:57 logging in is really not bad actually. It auto backs up your settings so you don’t have to setup everything so over again each time you have to set it up.

  5. I have the original MX and the wheel just failed on me where the resistance no longer works so it’s always on free flow. I don’t like the free flow feeling so I now need to upgrade after 10 years of the original MX. The MX is now $65 and the MX 4 is $120. I’m wondering if it’s worth paying double for the the upgrade.
