  1. 12/20/25 UPDATE: A year and a half later I’m up to 7 pieces of WIIM gear and I’m just as happy with it, if not more so. I’m convinced it’s the best HiFi bag for the buck out there and the app has been ROCK SOLID!

  2. Know this video is a couple of years old, but just now seeing it. Just wondering – What system do you have outdoors?

  3. Great video! For those of you put off by the Solid State Relay (SSR) wiring, and what looked like the SSR may need an associated cooling heatsink mounted to it (from my research), I have a what I think is a safer/easier solution. I recently wired up 3 separate WiiM Pro units, each to their own class D 2 channel amp for 3 separate zones in my back yard. I used the trigger out on each WiiM Pro unit to turn on their own amp by using what’s called a “IOT Relay” by a company called Digital Loggers. I paid $36 for each IOT relay on Amazon (needed 3 IOT Relays, one for each zone) and they are plug and play and have more internal safe guards built in that a SSR does not: Optical isolation, relay hysteresis and de-bounce protection, large MOV clamps surges for clean 90-140VAC power, 12A thermal safety circuit breaker switch prevents overloads. For each of the 3 zones I plugged the amp into one of the normally off receptacles of its relay and left the amp switch always in the on position so that it would only receive power and turn on once the WiiM trigger sent power to the IOT relay. And for additional cooling, I plugged in a $10 usb 120mm fan (Amazon brand: GSCOLER) to the other normally off receptacle of the IOT relay (fan came with a USB to plug converter) to turn on the usb fan which I have the each class D amps sitting on top of their own fans for continuous cooling only when they are on. So not only are the amps and their coolers turned on remotely by the WiiM Pro trigger out, but in the WiiM app I can specify which zones are turned on and which I want to remain off. And each zone can be linked to one or both of the other zones to play the same thing or play different sources for each zone independently, which I wanted to have the ability to do which is all controlled in the WiiM app. For the Class D amps I purchased the Nobsound NS-13G MAX for each zone for $100 ea on Amazon. These come with a 48v5Amp power supply which puts these amps at around 100W per channel RMS to 8ohms. MORE than enough power to each zone. (I have each zone as a pair of speakers hard wired in stereo)

  4. WOW just saw this – if you’re the homeowner WOW. I am a retired AV Pro residential and commercial (large colleges & conference rooms). Like to see you explain that system to a senior 🙃. Looks like you know your stuff, I have built rooms & houses like that – cool ! Just hope WIIM doesn’t start acting like Blows and think their product is above the rest.
