I’ve been using the Razer Basilisk V4 Pro to see how it actually performs, including its comfort, weight, build quality, glide, clicks, scroll wheel, tracking, wireless performance, battery life, and RGB. I’m also taking a look at the Razer Mouse Dock V2 Pro, which adds wireless charging and an 8000Hz wireless transceiver. Being able to simply drop the mouse onto the dock when you’re finished using it and have it instantly start charging is incredibly convenient.
One thing that might be a dealbreaker, though, is the weight. At just over 100g with the charging puck installed, the Basilisk V4 Pro is significantly heavier than Razer’s lightweight esports mice. So is the extra weight worth it for the ergonomic design, extra controls, features, and customization? Let’s find out.

Does the mouse need to have Synapse installed to use the smart reel?
Is it really as big as It looks???
The Box is smaller than V3 Pro and looking at the Picture on the Box for V4 Pro I thought the V3 Pro looks better, until I open the Box for V4 and instantly liked it and I think it’s grown on me already. I thought the lights going around the mouse on V3 looked better but now that I’ve set up some RGB on the V4 I don’t mind that it’s just at the back now.
To use the lighting effects from V3 to V4 I turn V3 on in Blue Tooth so now I can see both mouse in Synapse and then scroll through each Lighting Effect and then change the V4 to same as V3 so now both use the same lighting effects.
“One thing that can make or break it for you, its not a lightweight mouse”, GOOD.
Ok I have a dumb question. I got the mouse and the dock…the mouse came with this little block that has a little USB plugged into it. My understanding is that the USB is the dongle and since I’m using the dock, I won’t need to use it and can put it inside the mouse…but what is the little block thing for? Is it just a converter for USB-C to USB-A?
