a real headphone with a great soundstaging will beat any surround headset.
in my gaming era, audio technica ATH-A900 or ATH-AD900 is the best for bucks! A900 for sealed cans vs AD900 for open cans. don’t get the ATH-M30, those are too bassy.
they don’t need to be driven by an amp. just plug and play. or if the A900/AD900 is too expensive, the A700/AD700 is the cheaper version but still great nonetheless.
